What to Wear for your DIY Family Portrait

Okay, friends! Let’s talk about wardrobe for your DIY family portrait session this Mother’s Day!

1) Mom gets to pick her outfit first and base everyone else’s off of hers. Momma, if you don’t like your outfit, you are not going to like your portraits. You.come.first.this.time.

2) Don’t go too matchy matchy. Pick coordinating colors – google “family portrait outfit inspiration” and go from there. You do you – pick colors you love!!

pinks, blues, tans
yellows, tans, blues
creams, browns, blues
blacks, grays, creams
pastels
greens, blues, grays
turquoise, white, cream, tans

3) No shirts with graphics or words. Too distracting. We want to focus on you and your family, NOT what’s on your shirt.

4) If you are taking pictures where you can see feet – shoes and socks matter! Or maybe go barefoot if it is too difficult to think about!

Hi friends! I am an accredited portrait photographer who specializes in helping women to feel comfortable, confident, and beautiful in front of my camera. I would be honored to be your photographer.
