Sweet Sisters
My daughters (ages 5 & 7) and I recently had a girl’s weekend. It was just the three of us and I told them that they got to pick our plans for the weekend. I wasn’t sure what they would choose but this was their final list:
- Chuck E Cheese
- Go to the library
- Watch a movie
- Have a sleepover in momma’s room
- Picnic in the park and playtime outside
- Ride bikes
- Photoshoot
And I added church to the list but we did the entire list! Although Chuck E Cheese is my least favorite place to go, I have to say the rest of their choices made up for it. Needless to say when I heard photoshoot, my heart was filled with joy.
They have such a beautiful relationship – and not to say that they don’t fight – they do; they are kids and they are siblings. 😉 These two actually play together at school when they are at recess. Melt my heart. It is my hope that these two are this close when they get older. What a blessing!
Capturing their love for one another
Instead of having them pose for shots, I had them jump on the bed (always a favorite), play fun games in front of the beautiful light of the window, and tickle one another. They had a blast and you can see it in their expressions. In order to truly capture your kiddos love for one another, you need to find ways to make it fun for them – and the best place to do this is in beautiful light, if possible.
This weekend will forever be in our hearts because we have these photos to remember it. They only thing better would be for me to be in one of them; I guess we will just have to plan another girls weekend for that!
